Enjoy a bright and peacful Spring at Arbor Day Farm

Play in the Nature Explore Classrooms

Have fun building, creating, and imagining. Then start a forest melody on a giant marimba big enough for 20 active hands.

Children are instantly inspired as they have a positive connection with nature in the two Nature Explore Classrooms at Arbor Day Farm.

Nature Explore Classroom The research-based spaces, materials and activities throughout the outdoor classrooms are fun and engaging for every youngster. From building and climbing to dancing and playing, children experience profound benefits as they connect with nature.

In the Nature Explore Classrooms, you can:

  • Start a forest melody on a giant marimba
  • Create designs and mosaics in the Nature Art Area
  • Build with blocks and wood cuttings in all shapes and sizes
  • Climb logs or build a fortress with rocks and tree limbs
  • Float leaves and build miniature dams in a shallow stream
  • Create colorful hammocks and swings with giant fabrics in Nature's Tree House

The two Nature Explore Outdoor Classrooms—one large, one small—are ideal places to provide young children with the textures, smells, beauty, and wonder of nature while improving important learning skills. We hope you'll make time to experience both classrooms on your next visit to Arbor Day Farm.

The Nature Explore Classrooms at Arbor Day Farm were designed in collaboration with Dimensions Educational Research Foundation.
