Enjoy a bright and peacful Spring at Arbor Day Farm

 

Scout Day at Arbor Day Farm is Oct. 13, 2012 - rain or shine.

              

Scout Day at Arbor Day Farm Back by popular demand: it's Scout Day at Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City.

Arbor Day Farm is a great place for scouts of all ages to explore, learn, and earn badges, and a variety of facilitated and self-guided badge workshops are available FREE with your Tree Adventure admission on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Scout Day schedule:
- 10am - 2pm:
Nature Journal introduction sessions in the Discovery Ride Depot

- 10:30 -3:30pm on the half hour: be a Tree Sleuth - learn to identify trees by the shape and arrangement of their leaves. 

- Noon - 3pm: solve the mystery of what the owl ate with Owl Pellet Dissection

-1pm - 4pm: Get a taste of history with antique apple tasting in the Discovery Ride Depot.

- Hourly 11am - 4pm*: climb aboard the Discovery Ride for a guided journey into the orchards and forest. Watch and listen as Nature Interpreters share conservation practices and fun historical trivia.
*Additional admission required for the Discovery Ride: $3 per scout; $4 per adult.


Earn Badges

Brownies can participate in various activities and earn badges for:
- It’s Your World  - Change It!

- It’s Your Planet - Love It!

- Household Elf

- Hiker  

Juniors will have the opportunity to earn badges for:
- It’s Your World - Change It!

- Digital Photographer

- Scribe

Cadettes will take their nature journals out on the hiking trails to explore Dendochronology (the study of trees), visit Arbor Day Farm's Lied Greenhouse, and work on achieving badges for:
- Legacy Naturalist

- Trees

- It’s Your Planet - Love It!

- Trailblazing
